Regulation Crowdfunding lets almost anyone put money into a young private company. Before a company can take that money, it files a Form C with the SEC. The filing is public and free to read. It gives the company's revenue, cash and debt, and its notes often say more than the pitch page does.
Reading them is the hard part. Companies filed 820 new Form C filings and 835 amendments in the 12 months to October 19, 2026 (our count from SEC EDGAR). The amendments matter too: of the 14 filed in the week of October 21, 2026 that we matched to an offering, 8 carried different financial figures from the original filing (Form C and Form C/A financial summaries).
I started Crowdfund Recon to do that reading.
What is free
The facts. crowdfundrecon.com has a page for more than 2,000 offerings, with each figure labeled by its source and a link to the filing on EDGAR. Our Methodology page explains every check we run, so you can run them yourself.
Starting November 6, free readers also get a weekly email with the new Form C filings and one filing read in full, as a sample.
What concierge service adds
Concierge service is the same written briefing for every subscriber, in your inbox every Friday by 5 PM Eastern. It is not personal advice or one-to-one help. Each week it gives you:
Every check that fired on that week's new and updated filings, such as a net loss in both years or debt above assets.
For going-concern and related-party language, the filing's own sentence, quoted and linked.
Figures from the latest amendment, when an amendment restated them.
The Quiet Raise list: companies that showed progress on a raise but have no annual report on EDGAR. A company is named only after the four steps on our Methodology page, including a chance to reply, so the November 6 briefing names none.
A check that fired means "read this part of the filing closely." It is not a finding of wrongdoing. Most checks are common: across the 2,011 offerings in our database (filings through October 30, 2026, our count from EDGAR), cash below one year of losses fired on 1,089 (54%) and going-concern language on 370 (18%).
What it costs
$14.99 per month or $149 per year, and your first week is free. A debit or credit card is required to start. Cancel the renewal/cancel your subscription before the week ends and you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the plan you chose starts at the end of the free week. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Terms and refunds are on the plans page.
Who is behind it
I'm Kristofer Hickson, a former U.S. Marine. Crowdfund Recon takes no money from any company, funding portal or intermediary, now or later. Our revenue comes from readers. One disclosure: the editor (me) owns a $180 investment in First Jet Airways, bought October 2026, and we state that beside every mention of the company.
Multiple AI agents gather filings, draft each issue and adversarially check every issue draft. I oversee quality and decide what is published, but I do not personally check every fact against the filings. If we get something wrong, write to editor@crowdfundrecon.com and we will correct it in public. Any company we name may reply in up to 200 words.
